Sleeter and Grant....Throughout my high school experience I felt that I did encounter the banking concept in a good amount of my classes in addition to using the textbooks way too much. I can remember the science classes especially used the idea of putting information on the board, the students writing it down, memorizing it and then putting it back on a piece of paper for the test. I hated these classes the most becuase I felt we did the same thing everyday and would forget a lot of the stuff right after I was done using it. I loved the classes and the projects which were new and something that was out of the ordinary. I see my coop teacher doing some of the same ideas which are different than what is usually done. I also thought that the textbooks were used way to much. We woudl use them to aid in the idea of memorizing and doing the same things. I had one class my senior year in where we didnt use the books and we all thought it was the greatest thing ever becuase we didnt have to transport these huge books that we found to be pointless wiht us to class everyday. I loved the days when we would do a class thing that didnt involve the book and would be out of the ordinary. My favorites were when we would do something that wasnt even planned by the teacher and just came out of nowhere. This made it seem that the teacher was okay with not sticking to a certain script which always made me happy.
